GamFin Financial Counseling

ICPG has partnered with GamFin to provide online financial counseling at no cost to youGamFin is an International Gambling Counselor Certification Board (IGCCB) Preferred Provider for financial training.
This on-demand service allows you to consult with expert financial counselors about client cases. There are no financial product sales or commissions. Each agency will be allotted a certain number of hours, to be allocated to patients as they wish.
GamFin’s Financial Counselors are available to develop financial solutions that can be integrated into treatment and recovery programs to improve client outcomes.

Financial Wellness Questionnaire

Click the button below to download our patient survey tool. Have your patient fill-out Page 1 (“Pre-GamFin”) before meeting with a GamFin counselor, and fill out Page 2 (“Post-GamFin”) after the final meeting.* After both surveys are complete, please scan and email them to gamfin@icpg.org.
*For example, if a client meets with their GamFin counselor three times, they should fill out the first survey before their first meeting, and the second survey after their third meeting.

How long is each financial counseling session?
Each session is up to 1 hour long.
Are follow-up sessions available?
Yes, follow-up sessions are included. Patients typically require 2 to 3 visits with a financial counselor, and each agency is allotted a certain number of visits to be distributed among patients as they see fit.
Do I have to use these sessions for clients with a gambling problem?
Yes, clients must be impacted by a gambling problem as identified by the EDGE-SBIRT Screening tool, which is available for download here.
Are there any costs or fees?
There is no cost to providers. ICPG is covering the associated costs of these financial counseling sessions as part of our efforts to expand problem gambling treatment options across Illinois.
Can out-of-state providers access these sessions?
Applicants are required to be licensed in the state of Illinois, and to be providing treatment to an Illinois resident, to be eligible for these services provided by ICPG. For more information about similar resources and programs in your state, please contact GamFin directly, your local Council on Problem Gambling, or the National Council on Problem Gambling.
